After spending almost 40 years outside of Washington, DC, the American Trucking Associations (ATA) determined the nation’s capital would be the best place for the organization’s next chapter. Selecting the city’s first mass timber office building for its new headquarters, ATA’s goal focused on creating a welcoming environment for members and decision-makers, along with creating a modern working environment for staff. Price Modern was enlisted by ATA and OTJ Architects to assist with the furniture specification, procurement, and installation for the new 60,000 SF space spanning one and a half floors.
In addition to the 170 Haworth workstations and private offices, Price Modern worked with OTJ to select ancillary items that would encourage staff to engage and collaborate with one another. This includes several lounge spaces and a large breakout area adjacent to the pantry, complete with a custom 20-foot table to invite staff and visitors to connect in a comfortable environment. The breakout area flows directly into the large multi-purpose conference center for ATA to host stakeholders and legislators. As part of the relocation, ATA desired a state-of-the-art broadcast room to share news and updates with its members. Not only did our team provide furniture solutions, but we also specified area rugs and carpet tile in select areas to instill a sense of warmth while reducing noise in the largely open spaces. The new ATA headquarters will ensure the organization can continue to advance the trucking industry and serve its staff, members, and stakeholders for years to come.
