Global law firm, Taft Stettinius & Hollister, sought to expand their footprint after outgrowing their current space in the iconic Mies Van der Rohe building. Taft enlisted Price Modern to join the project team after successfully completing their Washington, DC office. Partnering closely with Taft and design firm, HED Architects, our team refined the typical drawings to ensure the casegoods closely matched the Washington, DC office while maximizing the larger office sizes. We procured a variety of ancillary items curated by the HED team and worked diligently to ensure any manufacturer delays were communicated early.
One of the most challenging and rewarding aspects of the project included the custom conference tables and credenzas. Taft desired modern back painted glass conference tables, but required specific hardwired microphones in each tabletop for consistent audio during depositions. Our team coordinated the microphone locations with the manufacturer, placing holes based on the AV vendor’s recommended locations. For a project of this size, the installation needed to be split into five phases – some of which happened concurrently. The staff utilized a swing space in the building during the project, requiring our team to communicate changes quickly to stay on schedule. Though the project was not without its challenges, the reimagined space represents the firm’s commitment to its staff and clients alike
