UMMS Capital Region Medical Center

As part of a larger, long-term strategy for the community, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) planned to create a medical facility that would centralize a variety of services for the community. The new 620,000 square foot, 11-floor building provides core clinical programs and specialty centers allowing patients to receive a variety of support in one location. UMMS enlisted a team of experts to design, build, and furnish the new medical center including Wilmot Sanz, Clark Construction, and Price Modern.

We worked together throughout the project to ensure the design aesthetic was met while maintaining the budget and project timeline. Price Modern provided procurement and installation of 205 patient rooms, 45 ER treatment bays, 20 observation rooms, waiting rooms, conference rooms, lounge areas, nurses’ stations, dining areas, and much more. Taking place in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Price Modern worked diligently to provide a safe and successful installation. Our team routinely monitored the health of our team members and supplemented installation labor as needed. We also maintained open lines of communication with all manufacturers to stay abreast of delays and shortages throughout the project. This project received the 2021 ENR MidAtlantic Best Project for the Healthcare category.
